Step 1. Select your tickets for Vía Ferrata de Redován (Alicante)

The Redován Via Ferrata is one of the most interesting climbing spots in southern Alicante

The vertical trail of the Redován Via Ferrata begins in the Sierra de Callosa, specifically on the side bordering this beautiful town. It was built in 2018 by Vía Libre and promoted by the Redován Town Hall. Upon arriving at the meeting point, you'll be surprised by how vertical its challenging, yet very safe, section is.

The Redován Via Ferrata is divided into two sections, depending on the difficulty of reaching the top.

The family section K2 is an easier route suitable for all levels.

Less difficult, the family section of the Redován Via Ferrata combines a good amount of vertical and horizontal climbing. It begins with a climb using iron rungs fixed to the rock face, spaced close together for easy climbing. Next, you'll have to cross a dizzying 25-meter-long bridge that will leave you suspended as you traverse a ravine from one side to the other. If that weren't enough, you'll then have to climb a ramp with handrails to reach another bridge, this time a Tibetan-style one. The Tibetan bridge of the Redován via ferrata will lead you to the swing section, the monkey bridge, and a bit more vertical terrain with iron rungs. It lasts approximately one hour, and if you decide to quit, you can always access a trail that will allow you to return to safety.

two sections (K2 and K4), depending on the difficulty of reaching the top.

The K2 family section is an easier route suitable for all levels. Less difficult, the family section of the Redován Via Ferrata combines a good amount of vertical and horizontal climbing. It begins with a climb up iron rungs hammered into the stone wall, spaced close enough together to be easy to climb. Next, you'll have to cross a dizzying 25-meter-long bridge that will leave you suspended as you traverse a ravine from one side to the other. If that weren't enough, you'll then have to climb a ramp with handrails to reach another bridge, this time a Tibetan-style one. It takes approximately an hour, and if you decide to give up, you can always access a path that will allow you to return to safety. If the first section wasn't challenging enough, you can continue with the "sporting section." This section is considerably more difficult, considered K4. This means that if you enjoy obstacles, you'll have a blast climbing this route. The sporting section of the Redován Via Ferrata begins by climbing a series of overhanging rungs that will take you to a sloping ledge with a handrail. Be careful not to dislodge any rocks (as your climbing partners and friends may be below). Next, you'll climb more rungs until you reach a beautiful viewpoint 60 meters high. It's a good place to rest and take some photos, if you haven't already. Further on, you'll encounter the challenging hinge section, where you'll enjoy a breathtaking walk 90 meters high and two meters away from the wall. The inverted ladder is the next challenge, where you'll inevitably have to look down at the void below you to overcome it. More staples, 40-meter-long suspension bridges, and even a thrilling ramp await you as the final obstacles to overcome on the Redován via ferrata.
